Awesome Armament Marathon from Moscow

More specifically, EurAsian Times reports that the Russian Defence Minister recently announced that the delivery of 4 Tu-160M strategic bombers from the Russian Strategic Nuclear Forces (SNF) will soon be completed.

The delivery of these modernized aircraft came at a critical moment in NATO-Russia relations, as rhetoric about Moscow's possible use of nuclear weapons has risen sharply in recent years.

At a meeting of the Russian Defence Ministry, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that 95% of Russia's strategic nuclear forces are now equipped with new weapons. He confirmed that the air force of the country's strategic forces was modernized with the delivery of 4 Tu-160M strategic bombers.

What is the Tu-160M bomber?

As far as the Tu-160M is concerned, we are dealing with an upgraded version of the original Tu-160 aircraft, which together with the Tu-95MS bombers form the backbone of the Russian Aerospace Forces' long-range aircraft fleet.

In the ongoing war in Ukraine, the Russian Air Force has used these aircraft to strike targets deep inside the country's territory using conventional cruise missiles.

It was only in July this year that the Russian Ministry of Defence and the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) announced that they had begun testing the prototype of the Tu-160M version. Considering that only a few months later they anticipated and delivered four such strategic aircraft, this is a significant achievement.

We should note, of course, that the state tests started in July, since the factory tests of these strategic bombers had begun much earlier. A brand new Tu-160M had made its maiden flight in January 2022, a month before the attack on Ukraine began.

Because of its powerful capabilities, the Tu-160M is considered one of the world's leading strategic bombers, which is why the acquisition of more units by the Russian army can only worry both the Ukrainians and NATO.

Let us not forget that in the run-up to winter, Russian air strikes against Ukraine have intensified, since the Russians' aim is to destroy the state's energy network with accurate fire.
