Testing of the "Invisible Hiton" by Russian Soldiers

More specifically and according to a recent publication of the Russian news portal Avia-pro, during the Russian-Ukrainian war Russian soldiers tested a new invention of Russian development on the battlefield. It was essentially special camouflage suits designed to protect Russian soldiers against enemy thermal imaging devices. How do they do this? By hiding the thermal footprint of Russian soldiers, which theoretically makes them invisible to enemy devices.

These uniforms, which are called "capes" by the Russian media, demonstrate several advantages. First of all, they are particularly lightweight, weighing only 350 grams, which makes them easy to carry and put on. To put it plainly, they fit in the pocket of a Russian soldier. Secondly, Moscow says that these uniforms are particularly effective in concealing a soldier's heatprint because they contain a special composition that successfully blocks human thermal radiation.

As far as the tactical advantages of these uniforms are concerned, we think they are particularly obvious. Ukrainian soldiers rely heavily on their thermal imaging devices during night operations, as this is often the only way to effectively detect Russian soldiers on the perimeter. Whether it's Russian snipers or Russian scouts, the Ukrainians certainly want to know their position on the map.

As mentioned above, a video was published on the internet showing the effectiveness of these Russian uniforms at night in a wooded environment. At a distance of about 20 to 30 meters these "capes" did indeed completely hide the fighters from the enemy thermal imaging device. For comparison, Russians were placed in the same spot where they were not wearing the uniform. As you can see in the video, these soldiers were visible to the enemy device.

If these new camouflage uniforms work on the battlefield in the same way then expect Russian ambushes and Russian surprise attacks to become even more nightmarish for the Ukrainians.
