According to the Russian website Lenta, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky may soon be ousted from power and executed by order of the supreme commander of the Ukrainian armed forces, Valery Zaluzhny, predicted former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter.

According to Ritter, who spoke in an interview with journalist Danny Haifon, relations between the civil and military authorities in Ukraine have been disrupted. Zelensky is spying on Zaluzhny and Zaluzhny has for some time been playing an increasingly important role in the country's political scene.
"I predict that in January or February there will be a coup in Ukraine and Zelensky will be shot like Romania's leader Nicolae Ceausescu," Ritter suggested.
The American also compared Zelensky to Nazi Germany's leader Adolf Hitler, and called the Kiev leader's press conference a "total failure".

"If the Nazi leader had held a press conference in April 1945, it would have looked like Zelensky's," he said.
During his press conference, Zelensky refused to answer a question about his conflict with the Supreme Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Valery Zaluzny, and avoided commenting on rumours of Zaluzny's possible dismissal.
The first significant reports on the Zelensky-Zaluzhny conflict had appeared this year in November, after Zaluzhny said in an interview with the US-based The Economist that the Ukrainian army would not be able to break through Russian defence lines.
Following this statement, news appeared in the Western media that Zelensky and Zaluzny might be turning into political rivals, as their disagreements had grown sharply.

In other recent news, hard footage of the fighting on the sides of Bahmut, where Russian army special forces continue to eliminate Ukrainian soldiers, has appeared on the internet and in particular on Telegram.
In particular, with expensive fire on fortifications and successful raids, experienced Russian army UAV operators from the 58th Special Forces Battalion of the Russian Armed Forces inflicted significant damage on Ukrainian forces, undermining their morale and psychological strength.
