Just six days ago, we had another unprovoked attack on the sovereign territory of Armenia by Azerbaijani troops.
Azeri soldiers invaded Armenian territory without regard for anyone and anything in violation of a whole list of international law, while Russia and its peacekeepers watched idly, even though they had signed an agreement with the Russian leadership.
An Azerbaijani infantry force launched a surprise attack with small arms against Armenian positions located in the Sotk section of the Armenia-Azerbaijani border, halting operations at the Sotk gold mine.
Reactions in Moscow and the West are lukewarm, but the Azeris, assisted by Turkish advisers, are implementing their own plan in this region, shrinking Armenian territory.
These events triggered a wave of indignation in Armenia, mainly against Russian forces and Moscow, due to both the non-reaction and the Putin-Erdogan relationship.
For example, standing on a busy street lined with green plane trees near the Yerevan Opera House, Atur Sagarsyan tells Western media that "Russia is an unreliable partner and Armenia should look for allies elsewhere."
"I dream of a day when Armenia leaves the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Russian sphere of influence," said Sargsyan, a 26-year-old philologist, referring to Moscow's regional pact.
"Russia and the CSTO did not help Armenia in a very difficult period," he told AFP, referring to the security organization's inaction in the face of hostilities with the state of Azerbaijan.
Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 shocked countries of the former Soviet Union and prompted Moscow's traditional partners to look elsewhere for allies.
A prime example of Russia's declining regional influence is Armenia, until now one of Moscow's closest allies, and this is an indisputable fact.
Since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, Armenia of about three million people has relied on Russia for military and economic support.
The country hosts the 102nd Russian military base in Gyumri and many people in the country speak Russian.
But the climate in this country is very bad for Russia and thousands of Armenians boldly declare that they cannot forgive Moscow for avoiding its responsibility to militarily defend their country against the Turkey-Azerbaijan alliance, because that is what it is all about.
The two Caucasian states have waged two wars over control of the disputed enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh, with the latest conflict in 2020 leading to Armenia's defeat and the loss of territory it had controlled for years.
Armenians' frustration with Moscow has grown further since Azerbaijan blocked the only land link between Karabakh and Armenia in mid-December.
"Armenia is a small country and should join a Western bloc, an alliance where it will receive real help," said another Yerevan resident, Arpine Madarian.
"We have to leave the CSTO. They are not helping us, they are not our friends," added the 42-year-old English teacher.
The unholy alliance of Russians and Turks against Armenians and Greeks afterwards
Many reports state that the country's government is moving westward at full speed now, since the Russians did not forget the alliance with Yerevan, they simply betrayed it to keep Erdogan close to them.
The Turkish elections are approaching, and the Islamic party of the AKP, in any way, will probably win them, which the Russians know very well, that is why they are giving everything to Turks-Azeris, maintaining neutrality in any plans of Baku-Ankara in its area Caucasian.
After all, what geopolitical value does small Armenia have in front of hydrocarbon-rich Azerbaijan and Ernogan's Turkey with 82 million inhabitants, which controls the Bosphorus Straits by not allowing NATO warships to enter the Black Sea?
Putin, remembering the Soviet communist past, has for a few years completely turned to Turkey with an idiosyncratic personal alliance, which is also directed against Greece.
We have to understand this very deeply and act accordingly, while the Turks are silenced by the USA, for their own reasons.
The Biden administration indirectly supports the demilitarization of our islands, the division of the Aegean, and the retreat of Athens to every demand of the Turks, so that the giants EXXON MOBIL and SHEVRON can freely do their work in the Eastern Mediterranean.
So, to come to your point, if any Greece-Turkey episode starts in the Aegean, then we will have the fate of the Armenians and even worse, since the USA-Russia will watch Ankara, until it reaches, and if we say, the Neo-Ottomans, for example, cross the line, then and only then will NATO intervene.
The solution is known and comes from our Ancient ancestors, who advised us through their writings, "let the spears (Greek missiles) have the same length as our words", towards every enemy, which in this particular case are the Turks.
