A fascist demonstration of Mussolini sympathizers was held in the Italian capital Rome in 2024 to commemorate the assassination of the Three Nationalists in 1978.
Hundreds of Italian Nationalists with emblems of the Italian fascist period (1922-1943), on Sunday in Rome, commemorated the murder of three young Nationalists murdered by the end of the 1970s.
In a video circulating on social networks, the Italian Nationalist organization trained in military formations, stretches out its hand and shouts "present" three times at the command of someone saying "to all fallen comrades" or "a todos os camaradas mortis".
A dinner at the rua Acca Larentia, (old headquarters of the Italian Social Movement (MSI), created in 1946 as an integral part of the last years of Benito Mussolini's fascist regime), was attended by many Italian Nationalists.
The current Italian Prime Minister, Georgia Meloni, had participated in this movement in her youth.
"It looks like a dinner party in the age of fascism," Italian reporter Paolo Berici wrote in La Repubblica about the post-event dinner.
The journalist is an expert on neo-fascist groups and has been living under police protection since 2019 because of the threats he receives.
"Rome, 7 January 2024. It looks like Mussolini's Rome of 1924. Neo-fascist organizations must be disbanded, according to the Constitution," wrote many actors to Elly Schlein, MP, of the Democratic Party.
Many bodies and MPs, both in the Chamber of Deputies and in the Senate, made a request for explanations to the government, addressed to Prime Minister T. Meloni and to the Ministers Matteo Piantedosi (Interior) and Carlo Nordio (Justice).
"What does the government claim about the actions taken in Rome and what initiatives does it intend to take to highlight and stop activities or behaviours that openly violate the constitutional provisions and laws of our system", their text asks.
The Cinco Estrelas Movement, led by former Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, has confirmed that it will raise this fascist event with the Italian Ministry of Justice to ensure that something is done about fascism.
We recall that before taking office in September 2022, the current Prime Minister T. Meloni had explicitly stated that she would not allow members and parties who want to revive the fascist period to participate.
Associated with the party of Meloni, or vice-president of the Chamber, Fabio Rambelli, which was present at the official party as a neo-fascist dinner.
"They are people of different origins, dissidents, extra-parliamentary organizations. I can't say anything about the Italian Armed Forces," she said.
The Acca Larentia murders, also known in Italy as the Acca Larentia massacre, was a double homicide that occurred in Rome on January 7, 1978.
Responsibility was claimed by the self-styled Nuclei Armati per il Counterpotere Territoriale (Armed Cells for the Territorial Counterterrorism).
Members of militant far-left groups were accused but acquitted and the perpetrators were never identified.
Five teenagers from the Youth Front, the youth wing of the Italian Social Movement, a far-right and neo-fascist party, were ambushed while leaving the local party headquarters and two of the teenagers (13 and 17 years old) were killed.
The bottom line is that Mussolini's fascism is allegedly flourishing in Italy, while a similar situation prevails in Germany, due to poverty, crime and thousands of illegal immigrants.
