"The NATO Parliamentary Assembly has called for the provision of medium-range missiles with a range of 1000-5500 km to deter Russia.
Russia also accused Ukraine on Tuesday of launching two more attacks on its territory using ATACMS missiles supplied by the US in recent days, adding that it is preparing 'offensive actions.'
The strikes, which occurred on November 23 and 25, targeted military installations and an airport in the western Russian region of Kursk, causing some infrastructure damage, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The Ministry also stated that it is preparing a response to the attacks, adding: 'Retaliatory actions are being prepared on Ukrainian soil.'
The decision creates a legal basis for the transfer of such weapons from NATO member states.
'NATO's Parliamentary Assembly called on their governments to provide Ukraine with medium-range missiles as a 'deterrence and self-defense' weapon,' said MP and Deputy Head of Ukraine's Parliamentary Committee on National Security and Defense Yehor Chernev, according to Ukrainian channel UNN.
According to him, this refers to missiles with a range of 1000-5500 kilometers, capable of hitting the strategic depth of Russian territory.
For example, Tomahawk missiles.
The Ukrainian delegation succeeded in convincing our Western colleagues to support the proposal and include this point in the resolution of the next Assembly session.
'This decision is the first step in creating a legal basis and gives NATO member states the reason to take the appropriate decision,' said Yehor Chernev.
He noted that at the last NATO PA session, the Council called for authorizing Ukraine to strike deep into Russia, bringing the matter to the political level.
U.S. National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby officially recognized the lifting of restrictions on Ukrainian military strikes on Russian territory with ATACMS missiles.
President Biden approved the use of these missiles by Ukraine for attacks on Russia, despite Moscow's threats.

At the same time, according to statements from local authorities and military analysts, the Russian army launched a series of attacks, reinforcing its positions on the right bank of the Oskol River and approaching Kupyansk.
According to Yuriy Larin, editor-in-chief of the Dumka website, "all the actions of the last 7-10 days demonstrate Russia's intention to expand control in the Kharkiv region, both from the north and from the right bank of the Oskol River."
Experts note that the Russian army's actions in this direction indicate a desire to advance the attack, strengthening control over strategic points in the area.
The Ukrainian side is reinforcing its defense, but the intensity of the attacks and the advance of Russian troops create additional difficulties for the Ukrainian forces.
