The Houthis, who have Iranian-made ballistic missiles, are threatening a holocaust against US bases everywhere in the Mediterranean and the Middle East, possibly in collaboration with Hezbollah, which has threatened the US in the same way.
It is known that the British have launched attacks against the Houthis from their base at Akrotiri in Cyprus, which, like others, is being targeted by the Houthis, but also by Hezbollah, which yesterday threatened the US again.
Brigadier General Abdullah bin Amer, speaking to the Arabic-language al-Jazeera television network a short time ago today said: "We [the Yemeni Armed Forces] will target their bases across the region in case the United States and the United Kingdom increase their attacks [against Yemen]."
"Washington and London must acknowledge responsibility for the deteriorating situation in the Red Sea and the militarization of the body of water. They must be prepared to receive a heavy price and suffer the full devastating consequences of this open aggression," said early on the deputy director of the Houthi Ethical Guidance Department, Brigadier General Abdullah bin Amer.
He added: "We [the Yemeni Armed Forces] will target their bases throughout the region in case the United States and the United Kingdom increase their attacks [against Yemen]."
Bin Amer noted that explosions were reported in several cities across Yemen, including the capital Sana'a and the western port city of Hudaydah, stressing that Yemeni forces will respond forcefully to aggressive actions.
"We will continue our operations in the Red Sea until the [Israeli] attack on Gaza stops," the senior Yemeni official said.
Meanwhile, the deputy foreign minister in Yemen's national salvation government also warned that US and UK strikes against targets in Yemen would come at a heavy price.
"Washington and London must prepare to pay a heavy price. Our country was secretly and massively attacked by air, ships and submarines. Undoubtedly, the attacks will cost them dearly," said Hussein al-Ezi.
Reaction from Iranians who fear they will be next after Yemen
Iran strongly condemned the US and UK military attacks on Yemen, calling them an "arbitrary" action, a clear violation of the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity and a violation of international laws.
In Iran's first reaction to the attack, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Qan'ani stressed that "arbitrary attacks will have no other effect than to fuel insecurity and instability in the region."
"These military attacks are carried out in line with the continuation of the United States' and the United Kingdom's full support for the last hundred days of the Zionist regime's war crimes against the Palestinian nation and its oppressed citizens under a total siege of Gaza.
While the Israeli regime continues its attacks and war crimes in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank in Palestine, the United States and Britain are trying to distract the attention of the people of the world from the crimes of this fake, criminal and aggressive regime against the people of Palestine by extending its umbrella of support to the Zionist regime," the Iranian official said.
Qaani expressed concern over the consequences of such arbitrary attacks on regional and international peace and security, calling on the international community to prevent the spread of war, instability and insecurity in the region through responsible responses and actions.
China fears blockage of goods transported to Europe
Beijing is "concerned" about the escalation of tension in the Red Sea.
China said on Friday it was "concerned" by the escalation of tensions in the Red Sea after air strikes overnight by the United States and the United Kingdom against Houthi rebel targets in Yemen.
"China is concerned about the escalation of tension in the Red Sea," said Mao Ning, spokeswoman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, and urged "the parties concerned to maintain their composure and show restraint in order to avoid the expansion of the conflict."
Houthi
Russia today condemned overnight strikes launched by Britain and the US against Houthi rebels in Yemen, calling them an action that "leads to escalation" and called for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council.
The new front as a result of the unmanageable situation in the Euphrates Sea was inevitable and it is estimated that the bombing will continue.
