Kiev forces made several attempts to advance in the directions of South Donetsk, Krasny Port and Donetsk without success, the Russian Defence Ministry said.

In a statement, the ministry said that the Russian Yug force group repelled several attacks near the Belogkorovka, Opitnoe, Pervomaiskoe and Severnoe regions. The group also targeted concentrations of manpower and equipment near Konstantinovka, Krasnoe, Avdeevka and Krasnogorovka.

"Enemy casualties were up to 180 Ukrainian soldiers and foreign mercenaries, 4 armoured fighting vehicles, 3 motor vehicles, 1 Czech-made RM-70 Vampire multi-launch rocket system, 1 Msta-B howitzer and 1 US-made M109 Paladin self-propelled artillery system," the statement said.

Ammunition depots of Ukraine's 53rd and 115th Mechanized Brigades located near Karlovka and Kramatorsk were also targeted, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, in the directions south of Donetsk and Zaporozhye, the Russian Vostok force group repelled some Ukrainian attacks near Rabotino, Novodanilovka and Malaya Tokmatska.

In addition, the manpower and material assembly areas of the 65th and 72nd Mechanised Brigades of the Kiev forces and the 105th Brigade of the Ukrainian Territorial Defence Force were targeted near the areas of Priyutne, Rabotino, Malaya Tokmatska, Novodanilovka, Makarovka and Nikolskoe.

The activities of a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group were also destroyed by the Russian army near Rovnopol.

According to the ministry, Ukrainian casualties in this direction amounted to 210 soldiers and foreign mercenaries, four tanks, three infantry fighting vehicles, two armoured fighting vehicles, two trucks, a Grad multiple rocket launcher, two D-20 howitzers and an Msta-B howitzer, as well as an American-made M109 Paladin self-propelled artillery system.

An American-made AN/TPQ-36 anti-missile radar was also targeted and destroyed by the Russian army near Lukyanovskoe.

In the Krasny Lyman direction, the Russian Tsentr force group repelled several attacks by the 21st, 63rd and 66th Ukrainian mechanized brigades near Torskoe, Novovodianoye and Nevskoe.

In addition, concentrations of manpower and equipment of the 63rd, 67th Mechanized, 95th Airborne Assault Brigade and the 15th Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine were targeted near Yabolovka, Torskoye, Terni, Stary Karavan, Grigorovka and Chervonaya Dibrova.

The activities of two Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance teams were also disrupted in the Sherebriansky forest area.

According to the Ministry, up to 80 Ukrainian soldiers, one infantry fighting vehicle, two armoured fighting vehicles, two trucks, one Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, two D-30 howitzers and 1 D-20 howitzer were destroyed in this direction.

The Russian Defence Ministry also released videos showing a recent failed attack by Kiev forces, in which several tanks and armoured vehicles were destroyed, as well as a recent attack by a Ka-52 attack helicopter against a Ukrainian armoured vehicle.

Kiev forces will likely escalate their attacks over the next two days in the hope of making significant gains before or during the NATO summit. The failure of the counter-offensive, which began more than a month ago, is seen as having weakened Ukraine's chances of joining the alliance.
