"Voices" for the creation of a Russian army of 7 million people! S. Shoigu: By the end of June a reserve army will be formed

LDPR party leader Leonid Slutsky told the Telegram channel that his party continues to insist on the creation of a conventional army in Russia, consisting of at least 7 million military and civilian personnel. According to him, the country does not need PMCs and their analogues and problems in the army should be solved without their help.

Andrei Gurulev, a member of the State Duma Defense Committee , urged "not to confuse dreams with realities," commenting on the idea of LDPR leader Leonid Slutsky.

"Dreams should not be confused with realities. The number of combat personnel in the army depends on many factors. The first and most important is from those threats that come along the perimeter of the territory of the Russian Federation," he said, adding:

"You seven million and ten. What is the point? We need a military capable of clearly fulfilling these tasks in order to repel the threats facing the country. Nothing more, nothing less. To date, the president has set the number, it is extremely understandable, based on the criteria I have set out."

The Russian Defence Minister, General Sergei Soygu, announced that by the end of June, a reserve army will be formed in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and, in the near future, an army corps. The components and formations will receive more than 3,700 units of equipment.

"We are forming a reserve army as part of the army corps plus five regiments of the 20th Army. Everything is going according to plan. In fact, by the end of June, we will complete the formation of a reserve army and in the near future we will complete the formation of an army corps," the head of the military department said at a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with permanent members of the Security Council of the Russian Federation .

According to Sergei Shoigu , now these five regiments are 60 percent complete, both in terms of personnel and equipment.

Most likely, reserve units and formations are staffed by military personnel with direct military specialties and direct formal assignment. Armament, military and special equipment for the formed army and corps is obtained both from the presence of the Armed Forces and from arsenals, provincial and central bases (depots), as well as from industrial enterprises.

"There is reason to believe that, the purpose of the measures currently being taken by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, is to bring the combat power of the Russian Army to the level necessary not only for the successful disruption of the offensive operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the apt allocation of the created reserves in the areas of combat operations, but, above all, to detect the intention of the leadership of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to create conditions for the implementation of the next operations of a purely offensive character," Russian media reports.

Most likely, at present, the formation of a reserve army and army corps in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is proceeding according to the method that existed in the period of World War II.

That is, units and formations are withdrawn from the Joint Force Group (or their organisational core is withdrawn to their areas of assembly). Subsequently, additional staffing of units, formations with personnel, additional provision of weapons, military and special equipment and all required material is carried out.

At the next stage, tactical (operational) exercises with live fire are carried out , then a series of checks are conducted which determine the final readiness of the formed units for combat use and finally, regiments and sections are sent to operational areas.
