Panic in Kherson: Ukrainian fire destroyed a bridge connecting it with Crimea-Survived by a huge "hole" (Pictures & Videos)

In news of the last few hours, we are informed that Ukrainian troops have attacked bridges in the administrative centres between the regions of Kherson and Crimea. This was stated by the current governor of the first region, Volodymyr Shaldo, on his Telegram channel.

"The criminal regime in Kiev committed a barbaric bombardment of civilian infrastructure, bridges in particular on the administrative border between the Kherson region and the Crimean region, near Chongarsky," he wrote.

According to Saldo, Kiev wants to intimidate the residents of Kherson and spread panic among the population, but he stressed that it will not succeed. He promised that the bridge would be repaired as soon as possible.

He noted that there continues to be communication between the Kherson region and the Crimean region, as a temporary new solution has been found to move vehicles along the Russian reserve line.

According to preliminary data, British-made Storm Shadow long-range cruise missiles were used for the attack, the governor of the region added.

For his part, Crimean leader Sergei Aksyonov said that explosives experts are already conducting an investigation to clarify the type of ammunition used. In addition, specialized agencies have already begun to assess the damage to the road.

Oleg Kryuchkov, adviser to the chief for political information, noted that the bombing of the Chongarsky bridge will not be able to significantly affect the logistical support of the ground transport corridor to Crimea. He explained that the peninsula is connected to the Kherson region via three points, two in the Armiansk region and one in the Dzankoy region.

While the assessment of the damage to the Chongyarsky bridge is underway, for travel to the Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions, the Russian authorities propose to choose the route via Armiansk.

Despite the heavy blows inflicted by the Ukrainians on the Chongarsky Bridge, the infrastructure seems to have survived, at least a large part of it. This is evidenced by a video showing the aftermath of the attack on the site, published by Russian Channel 5.

The footage shows that almost directly in the centre of the bridge a huge gap, a hole in fact, was created through which we can see the river water. The asphalt is damaged everywhere and, of course, the bridge is closed.
