Netanyahu's message to Erdogan-Hezbollah-Test of naval version of Iron Dome in the Mediterranean against drones and cruise missiles

The Israeli Armed Forces have successfully tested the naval version of the Iron Dome system against multiple attacks, sending a clear message to Erdogan-Hezbollah following the Turkish president's victory yesterday amid rumors of a possible strike on Israel.

The C-Dome successfully intercepted advanced targets that pose threats to the infrastructure and strategic assets of the State of Israel, local media reported.

The Israeli Navy has successfully completed a series of multi-system interception tests at multiple levels using the naval version of the Iron Dome system from the Saar 6 "Magen" Corvette.

The Naval Iron Dome, known as "C-Dome", is a joint project of the navy together with the Israel Missile Defense Organization (IMDO), under the supervision of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, together with the company Rafael Advanced Defense Systems.

The C-Dome has successfully intercepted advanced targets that pose threats to the infrastructure and strategic assets of the State of Israel in its exclusive economic zone.

In November 2022, the Israeli Navy had conducted a successful test of the C-Dome, but today's test involved a much wider range of existing and future threats that the 'Magen' Corvettes might face during conflict, such as rockets, cruise missiles and UAVs.

An Israeli Defense Ministry statement said: "The tests integrated ship systems with the system's multi-layered defense array and tested new technologies to improve the operational effectiveness of the multi-layered air and missile defense array at sea and on land.

The success of the tests is another important milestone in the development of the array to counter current and future threats in various battlefields."

Israel decided not to put the same arrays of the Iron Dome air defense system on the oil rigs for security reasons, but instead adapted the system to the C-Dome version on Sa'ar 6 Corvettes.

Israel Aerospace Industries' Elta is the radar manufacturer and mPrest is the command and control system manufacturer.

C-Dome is another system in Israel's existing line of four operational defense layers: Iron Dome, David's Sling, Arrow 2 and Arrow 3.

Operational capabilities in the face of growing maritime threats

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said: "The C-Dome system represents a significant leap forward in our defense capabilities and ensures the superiority and operational capabilities of the Israeli defense establishment against the growing threats in the maritime arena."

Israel's Daniel Gold emphasized: "The success of the campaign further strengthens our confidence in the defense systems and their ability to protect extensive areas as well as the strategic advantages of the State of Israel on land and sea."

DDR&D IMDO Director Mr. Moshe Patel added: “During this trial, we successfully tested the new capabilities of the Naval Iron Dome on the Sa'ar 6 corvette along with additional systems in its multi-layered air and missile defense array Israel, such as connectivity between on-board and land-based systems and a new radar developed to protect Israel's exclusive economic zone."

The system successfully detected various threats, including rockets, UAVs and cruise missiles, and destroyed them using ship-launched missiles at sea, with excellent accuracy.
