Upcoming Escalation Alert! Mutual Russia-Ukraine attacks on logistics structures - Train derailments & sabotage

Amid upcoming offensive operations, Ukraine is attempting to cut off Russian supplies to the front line. On April 29, a UAV launched by Ukrainian forces struck the city of Sevastopol, causing four fuel tanks to burn.

On May 3, another fuel tank caught fire in the village of Volna in Russia's Krasnodar region. The facility was reportedly hit by a Ukrainian UAV. There were no casualties as a result, but the fire was so large that five fire engines were involved in extinguishing it.

At the same time, Ukrainian saboteurs launched rail warfare in the Russian border region of Bryansk.

In the past two days, two freight trains have derailed. On May 1, a Belarusian train was damaged in the Unek region. About 7 wagons derailed and two oil tanks caught fire.

On May 2, another explosion occurred near the Snezhetskaya railway station. One locomotive and about 20 freight train cars were damaged. Both incidents had no victims.

Another attack was averted on May 2 in the same area of Bryansk. An alert worker noticed a tunnel under the railway line where unknown saboteurs were planning to plant an improvised explosive device.

At the same time, Ukrainian forces repeated strikes on military installations on Russian territory.

On the evening of May 3, a military airfield in the Bryansk region was attacked by Ukrainian UAVs. Presumably, the target was the Seska airfield used by the military transport aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces. Two of the drones were reportedly destroyed by small arms fire. However, two more UAVs exploded on the ground of the military airport, possibly after dropping ammunition. The fifth drone was never found, perhaps blown away or damaged during the attack.

As a result of the attack, an unused AN-124 cargo plane suffered minor damage. According to initial information, there were no casualties.

In turn, the Russian military is not stopping its retaliatory raids across Ukraine, which are primarily aimed at cutting off Ukrainian military supplies to the front.

The Aviation Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that on the night of May 3, 5 Russian kamikaze drones flew at various targets on the territory of Ukraine. However, according to Ukrainian media reports, the country witnessed another mass attack. Explosions occurred in the regions of Kiev, Sumy, Odesa, Kirovograd and Dnepropetrovsk.

Ukrainian authorities have confirmed that Russian drones hit an oil base in the city of Kropyvnytskyi. There were no casualties, but a large fire broke out at the scene. Another UAV hit an administrative building in Dnipropetrovsk.

Massive attacks in the rear areas are a clear sign of the coming escalation in the front line.
