With the confrontation of NATO and the West in general with Russia increasing every day and more, having put the Allied Forces on the highest alert, the exercises for the sake of which a number of aeronautical units remain at points of interest, succeeding one another. A classic case is the three aircraft carriers participating in the multinational anti-submarine exercise Dynamic Manta 23 that succeeded the aeronautical Neptune Strike 23. Exercises that were carried out in the case of the anti-submarine exercise still continue in the Central Mediterranean.
Yet another NATO exercise is being prepared to be held with the commitments of not one but six areas in the Greek area. The exercise according to NOTAM issued by Athens for the period 27 to 31 March is A0713/23. It binds an area west of Aktion, another west of Souda, the third is between Crete and the Peloponnese, the fourth east southeast of Heraklion Crete, the fifth north of Skyros and the sixth east of Thessaloniki!
According to information from a military source, this is about the DYNAMIC GUARD 23 exercise. It is, as the relevant NOTAM also mentions, an electronic warfare exercise.
According to NATO planning, the previous exercise with this code name took place in the North Atlantic and aimed to maintain the professional level in early warning anti-ballistic defense operations of the units of the Standing Naval Force of NATO, when they are not engaged in operations of Alliance.
According to the GEETHA website, the last time this exercise was carried out in Greece was on March 26 to 30, 2018.
The goal of the exercise, according to the relevant announcement, was to conduct it in a combat operations environment, aiming to improve the performance of the participants.
So far it has not been known with what units and whether Greece will participate in this exercise this year. The first information states that, for example, the air force does not participate, but this changes until the start of the exercise depending on the feasibility of the time period at that moment.
What is certain is that now the presence of the American and NATO factors will become more and more intense. In this context, flights are expected to be carried out today by the aircraft carrier of the US Navy "George Bush", which is sailing in the central Mediterranean, south of the Peloponnese in an area committed by Athens with NOTAM A0741/23
