"The entire security situation, including arms control, is being held hostage by the US posture, which is aimed at inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia. We will oppose it in the most decisive way, using all methods and means at our disposal," said Sergei Ryabkov, deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
He did not explain what specific means and methods these are, however, apparently, in the event of a threat of strategic defeat, Russia will be ready to use strategic weapons, which in this context may well correspond to the concept of using nuclear weapons.

Russian troops captured a new border in the Ughlenar region, the Russian Defense Ministry announced.
"The Russian army occupied more advantageous lines in the Uglendar region, while the forces of "Wagner" managed to move deep into Bahmut.
At this moment, the Russian mercenary forces participating in the attack are already about one and a half kilometers from the city center.

The positions of the 102nd Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the settlement of Uspenovka, Zaporizhia region, were also attacked.
According to a Russian news agency, the total daily losses of the Ukrainian army in these areas amounted to 25 people. In addition, two infantry fighting vehicles, a D-20 howitzer, two D-30 howitzers and a Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system were destroyed.
At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have entrenched themselves in the city and do not yet intend to retreat.
