Turkish company FNSS has just unveiled the new PARS ALPHA 8×8 New Generation Armored Combat Vehicle at the 2024 World Defense Show, which is being held between February 4 and 8 this year in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
They Offer It in Foreign Countries
Turkish publication of defense page states that the defense product in question was developed to be used in different operations on the battlefield where symmetric and asymmetric threats coexist. The Turks designed it with speed, survivability and firepower in mind, so essentially we are dealing with a multi-role armored fighting vehicle.
The CEO of FNSS, Nail Kurt, stated that "the PARS ALPHA 8x8 is a vehicle that can provide technological superiority to troops both on today's battlefield and on the battlefield of the future. It's a breakthrough in armored vehicle technology."
Technical specifications
PARS ALPHA will transport mechanized infantry units to the battlefield, where they will carry out their combat missions. It can carry 10 to 14 soldiers on the battlefield. It is equipped with a hydropneumatic suspension with adjustable height, which is adjusted according to the type of terrain on which it moves.
Its maximum speed is 115 km/h and the Turks report that it can move normally even if one wheel is lost. Its operational range reaches 800 kilometers without the need to refuel.
Its level of protection is not particularly high (compared to heavier armor), as it offers protection against mines, improvised explosive devices, ballistic threats and artillery shell fragments. However, FNSS offers customers the option to install an active protection system or other protection systems.
As for its armament now, the PARS ALPHA has a TEBER-II 30/40 remote control turret equipped with a 30mm autocannon, the barrel of which can be replaced with a 40mm barrel. Additionally, there is a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun next to the main gun. Anti-tank missile systems can optionally be installed in the turret, or alternatively a completely different turret with up to a 120mm gun can be selected.
Finally, we should mention that PARS ALPHA can be transported by transport aircraft, such as the C-17 Globemaster, the C-5 Galaxy and the A400M.
