A video published on the internet shows the moment when the Iranian army raids a tanker under the protection of the US Navy.
More specifically, according to the Russian news service Avia-pro, a video was published on the internet showing the moment of the seizure of a foreign oil tanker carrying smuggled fuel. The commander of the country's 2nd Local Naval Forces of the army said the ship was under the military protection of the United States.
As highlighted in the message, the Iranian navy soldiers, despite the risk, carried out the seizure operation and arrested the offenders. The released footage shows how Iranian military special forces boarded the oil tanker.
The ship is said to have been spotted during an Iranian anti-smuggling operation. A large quantity of smuggled fuel was found inside the huge vessel, sources in the Middle Eastern country said.
As for the US involvement in the whole affair, Iranian reports of the tanker being protected by a US Navy ship cannot be confirmed or denied. Of course, it should be stressed that other media are also talking about a connection between the ship and the US.
In any case, the climate in the region has been very tense, especially between Israel and Iran, since the alarm was raised in Jerusalem about the possibility that Tehran is developing or already has munitions. As we know, the US is on Israel's side and opposes the Iran-Russia defence deal.
Australian Jet E-7 will Monitor Deliveries to Ukraine
According to information reported by the authoritative US media outlet The Drive, the Australian Royal Air Force is expected to deploy an E-7A Wedgetail valid warning and airborne control (AWACS) aircraft to Germany later this year.
This is the first appearance of an Australian E-7A Wedgetail in Europe, with authorities in the country saying the aircraft will be used to help control the delivery of military and humanitarian supplies to Ukraine.
The news of the E-7A Wedgetail parade, which will be launched in October, was announced yesterday, Monday 10 July, by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Berlin following discussions between him and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
"The deployment of the E-7A Wedgetail as an additional valid warning capability will help ensure that the key support being sent to Ukraine by the international community is protected," said Australia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, Richard Marles. "Australia is committed to ensuring Ukrainian integrity against Russian aggression."
