We write and report a lot from time to time about the need for a very strong Greek Armed Forces, due to the Turkish expansionist, neo-Ottoman style policy, but the essence remains the same.
Hellenism is everywhere, and it is imperative more than ever to adapt to this environment, so that the next generations can survive and develop in our country.
But how will this be done?
Only by extracting our deposits of oil and natural gas, we will be able to provide a solution for the financing of the Economy, Health, Education and Defense, all the rest are just wishful thinking.
But what is Turkey finally preparing in the Aegean, playing the good neighbor after the deadly earthquakes?
The information that the Turkish Navy will install a Lazer weapon on warships, especially on iSTIF and TF-2000 class frigates, automatically means an alarm in Athens, which should not rest on Akar's "gloomy words" about cooperation in the Aegean. nor in the possible change of the Erdoğan regime (which is doubtful due to the practices of the AKP for 24 years).
The NAZAR laser electronic attack system, developed to destroy missiles, has been listed by the Turkish Naval Forces Command.
The Laser system was installed on the frigate TCG GOKOVA, for testing as well as to search for methods of use against surface targets
The Laser Electronic Attack System (LETS), developed by the Turkish company Meteksan Defense, will destroy missiles with lasers according to the needs of the Turkish Navy, it was presented for the first time on the frigate TCG Gökova.
In recent years, third- and fourth-generation missiles with electro-optical and infrared search warheads have become a significant threat, especially to military bases and strategic civilian targets.
In this context, the Laser Glare Detection System (LAPTES) model was created in the Turkish Naval Research Center Command (ARMERKOM) body in November 2007, and the first study of laser electro-optical sensor detection was carried out.
As a result of the work done, the NAZAR Laser Electronic Attack System Project is expected to be deployed to surface units of the Turkish Navy.
"The system, which is in the hands of the US (HELİOS and ODIN) and China, neutralizes missiles with electro-optical and infrared search heads such as TV, IR, IIR, using guided laser and functional destruction techniques," the Turks report.
The Turkish Laser is able to neutralize missiles from long distances compared to the countermeasures systems currently in force (Phalanx CIWS).
The Turks report this distance as about 2 times that of existing systems.
Needless to say, the Greek fleet is in great danger from such Turkish weapons systems.
What do we really know about the Greek laser weapon?
We on our website do not mention the power of the corresponding Greek weapon, nor its effective range, since none of this has been officially announced.
However, we emphasize that the new revelation will be that this Greek-made system (if everything is completed) will exclusively target air and sea targets.
The armored wheeled vehicle with a MINOTAUR laser weapon, develops a speed of 100 kilometers, will have the ability to "fry" Turkish helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles and boats at a distance that cannot be announced at the moment.
Placement of the Laser weapon platform on Greek warships as well
It also became known that a robotic laser platform named "Nepseidon" has been created for this purpose, which can be mounted on warships of various classes, with the aim of neutralizing Turkish unmanned aerial vehicles.
The laser systems are supported by the electricity generator called "Jupiter".
This is a Greek technological revolution, if all this becomes a reality, since wheeled army vehicles and warships will be able to "take down" in addition to the Turkish UAVs, possibly also surface-to-surface missiles of the Turkish Navy, canceling the "good paper" of the Turks in any Greek-Turkish potential conflict on land and in the air.
The system of the Soukos company was presented on a Greek TV show, probably after the approval of the Ministry of Health, and this shows us that everything is in the final stage and this is the encouraging thing in the whole case.
