Guler's revelation! The Turks are preparing the base in Bogazi of Cyprus for the aircraft carrier Anadolu while keeping an eye on Israel

For several days now, Turkey has been attempting to change the status quo in Cyprus, even within the buffer zone, with moves even within the buffer zone. These actions by Ankara became widely known when the Turks launched an attack against the Cyanocranes in the Pyla area. The invaders' efforts continued with their advance to the area of Agios Dometios where they placed cameras at will in the buffer zone and recently it became known that they built a 3.5 km long fortification line which includes firing positions for tanks.

However, the information that the Turks are building a naval base in the Bogazi area in the occupied province of Famagusta has caused a sensation in Cyprus.

This information was confirmed by the Turkish Defence Minister Yasar Güler himself, who, speaking to journalists at the annual press conference given by the Turkish Defence Ministry to newspaper and television reporters, gave one more piece of information.

According to this, the Turks want Bogazi to be able to dock their mini aircraft carrier Anadolu!

Turkish Defence Minister Yasar Güler responded specifically by saying: "We want to renovate an old port in Cyprus to connect our ships and not a base. Our ships go there often, we participate in exercises, we make visits, but if TCG ANADOLU goes there tomorrow, there is no pier on which it will be anchored. There is an old pier there and we are renovating it."

Given that Bogazi is in Famagusta Bay, one could at first glance say that the Turkish fleet wants to have the possibility of a forward base for its aircraft carrier so that it can operate with even greater ease in the "heartlands" of the Eastern Mediterranean.

The question immediately arises: what are Anadolu's possible targets in the Eastern Mediterranean, east of Cyprus?

The first and easy answer by looking at the map is: Israel.

This "easy" answer becomes almost a certainty if one looks at the transcript of the questions and answers of the journalists and Güler respectively.

So before the Turkish minister referred to the base at Bogazi and their aircraft carrier, he was asked a question about the likelihood of a military conflict with Israel!

The question was: Is there a possibility of Israel attacking Turkey after Palestine?

Güler's answer if anything confirms Anadolu's aim in Bogazi: "Such a possibility is not possible. Of course, we have a National Security Council, the necessary risk assessments are made, but there is no threat to Turkey. Everyone knows everyone."

We say this because statistically at least when the Turk says he won't attack, he attacks, and when he says he's not worried, he's usually "shitting his pants."

Whether the naval base in Bogazi will eventually be completed and whether Anadolu will be stationed there remains to be seen in the future. The only thing that is certain is that Turkish-Israeli relations are in the doldrums and it will be very difficult for them to return even to a level of normalcy...
