A new revelation by Cypriot journalist and expert Yiannos Charalambides and Sigmalive, shows us that Turkey has started without any hesitation the creation of the non-existent "Blue Homeland" from Cyprus, while it will continue in the Aegean Sea, thus making the activation of the unified defence doctrine more urgent than ever.
"Turkey is installing a system of very great importance for the Blue Homeland in Cyprus," Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu said.
"The 'Ship Traffic' system is about monitoring maritime traffic between the Occupied Territories and Turkey and will help protect Turkey's interests," he said, adding that its installation will sharply increase Turkey's capabilities in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The reason has to do with the detection and tracking of all types of ships in the region.
The Turkish plan in the Aegean Sea targeting the Greek Navy
A few months ago we reported an article (which we confirm) that Turkey is installing coastal surveillance and early detection radars along its coastline in the Asia Minor coast.
These radars will all be connected and networked with ATMACA ground-based mobile anti-missile systems, against surface units, against the background of the presence of the Greek Navy in our islands.
This may create an area of denied access to a 280 km sea area from the Asia Minor coast to the Aegean islands, in an attempt by the Turks to target our country.
The positioning of the Turkish Coastal Surveillance Management System deployed by HAVELSAN is reported by all the defence websites of the Turkish press with the expression "not even a bird will fly in Turkish territorial waters", meaning of course the alleged maritime area of the "Blue Homeland".
Turkish experts say, of course, that this vast coastal radar system is about illegal activities such as people smuggling, border violations and drug trafficking, but the essence of course lies elsewhere.
This "elsewhere", however, concerns its interconnection with ATMACA mobile anti-missile systems, against surface units, which translates to the Greek navy operating on our islands.
We understand that the Turks' great détente is, and will remain, the strong presence of Greek surface units of our navy and the Greek coast guard so close to the Asia Minor coast.
If the interconnection mentioned in the Turkish press with ATMACA surface-to-surface missiles or any other missile is implemented, the danger against our ships will increase sharply.
The Neo-Ottomans are implementing the same in Cyprus, targeting the EEZ of the island, having permanently in their missile sights anything that moves in the area.
The only solution in this case is the activation of the unified defence doctrine, and the purchase of mobile missile batteries of EXOCET type, as an equal response and area denial to the Turkish Navy.
