RPK-16 is a light machine gun that was developed by Russian Kalashnikov Concern as a replacement option for the RPK-74 light machine gun. RPK-16 aims to be used by the Russian Army and Special Forces. The contract was signed in 2020 but only included limited units of the weapon.
RPK-16 shoots 5.45x39mm ammunition, like the assault rifles of the Russian Army.
The gun has two barrels, one of 415mm and one of 580mm. Of course, the smaller ones will be used from Special Forces.
There are also two available magazines: 30 and 45 rounds but also there is a drum magazine with 95 rounds capacity. Due to this magazine, the weapon has an impressively high rate of fire.
A fully Picatinny-type rail couldn't miss from the weapon. The rail can be equipped with many sights. The standard iron sights provide a targeting range of 800m. The gun can be equipped with a silencer too.
