With Erdogan proceeding with a new test of the "Typhon" ballistic missile, Athens is sharpening its alliance with Israel.
Greece bound two areas with NOTAM A1601/23, one of which is south of Crete and the second west of Peloponnese. In these two areas, Greece and Israel are carrying out a massive aerial refueling exercise today.
Specifically, according to information from secure sources who spoke to Pentapostagma, the Air Force will take off a total of 60 aircraft today! Israel with two B-707 flying tankers will train Greek pilots in aerial refueling. The exercise will take place in two phases. One took place in the morning and the second will take place as soon as darkness falls so that the Greek pilots can indulge even more in the process of aerial refueling during the night.
A particularly demanding process whose degree of difficulty rises even more during the night.
In the Pentateuch we have already pointed out the increasingly close military cooperation between Athens and Tel Aviv
It is no coincidence that, just like last year, this year the Israeli Armed Forces carried out the Noble Dina 2023 exercise to a significant extent in an area of Greek jurisdiction.
Athens, like last year, participated in the exercise with units of its Armed Forces. An area southwest of Santorini was reserved for March 20 with NOTAM A 0828/23 for joint training of a unit of the Hellenic Navy and a pair of fighters of the Hellenic Air Force with a unit of the Israeli Navy, while an area was reserved south of Crete with a series of NOTAMs from March 13 to 21 for aerial refueling of Israeli Air Force fighters. According to the Cypriot NOTAM A0308/23, starting from March 15, the Israeli fighter jets flew along the PASOS-STEPA-APLON-MAROS-TOSKA air lines where they entered the Athens FIR where they were engaged in aerial refueling and other activities that they enabled them to gain experience in missions far from Israel.
That Greece has become the strategic depth that Israel needed is also proven by the fact that on land level from Monday 20 to Thursday 23 February 2023 and in the context of the Military Cooperation between Greece and Israel, they took place for the first time on Greek soil joint trainings with the Israeli Ground Forces, in accordance with the planning of the Hellenic Armed Forces regarding the international cooperation of the Hellenic Armed Forces.
