With the ship USNS BRITTIN which is characterized as a "Logistics Naval Vessel" and notable with a length of 289.33m, it is the largest ship that has entered the port of Alexandroupoli to date, to unload heavy tanks, armored combat vehicles in the "Souda of the North" , armored personnel carriers and recovery tanks (BRAM) which, together with those unloaded a few 24 hours ago by the RO-RO Liberty Pride, will be loaded into 16 wagons of a train that will leave in the next few hours for Romania, everything shows as we pointed out yesterday in the Pentateuch, that NATO is preparing for much more "extreme" situations in Ukraine.
In Romania, the armored vehicles will arrive at the 95th Air Base of the Romanian Air Force, located between the city of Bacău and the village of Nicolai Balcescu. The fighter and helicopter squadrons of the Air Force are based there.
The train's last stop is the 95th Air Base south of Bacău — where officially there are no international forces units. The nearest other bases are Fetesti and Câmpia Turzii, as well as the Brasov, Cincu and Malina mountain ranges, which are far from Bacău.
After arriving in Bacău, the equipment can go to Poland. A direct transfer to western Ukraine or southern Ukraine via Moldova is also possible. Earlier, Romanian tanks have already been noted on the border with Moldova.
In Athens, AGEETHA Konstantinos Floros met with Eddie Zemenidis, Executive Director of the Greek lobby in the USA HellenicLeaders
"The MDCA, Alexandroupoli as the "Souda of the North & the general Greek-US Military Cooperation that deepens at all levels, the most important topics of our discussion" states a post by the GEETHA on social media.
At the same time, NATO announced the implementation of Crisis Management Exercise NATO 2023 (Crisis Management Exercise -CMX 2023), which is designed to test the Alliance's consultation and decision-making processes at the strategic political-military level. According to the NATO briefing the exercise will take place between March 9 and 15, 2023. This is the Alliance's 23rd CMX since 1992.
The exercise will involve civilian and military staffs in the capitals of the Allies and Finland and Sweden, NATO Headquarters and Strategic Commands. As with previous CMX exercises, CMX 2023 does not involve deployed forces on the ground.
CMX 2023 will involve practicing integrated responses to a complex civil-military scenario, taking place in a hybrid environment.
Finland and Sweden have participated in previous iterations of the exercise. This year for the first time they will participate under their new status as Invitees.
CMX 2023 will also include staff-to-staff exchanges with the European External Action Service, the European Commission and the General Secretariat of the European Council and the Council of the European Union.
