Buk-MB3K is a new air defense missile system that is an improved version of the Soviet Buk. In 2005, an improved Buk-MB appeared in Belarus and an even better version was seen in 2019. The second system had the designation Buk-MB3K.
The system uses an Ukrainian radar and has the 8x8 MZKT-692250 transfer vehicle of Belarus. The weapon can hit aircraft, helicopters, ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and anti-radiation missiles.
The Transporter-Erector-Launcher (TELAR) is named 9A318K and can carry up to 4 missiles. Available options are the 9Μ38, 9Μ38Μ1, 9Μ317, 9Μ38ΜΒ, 9Μ38ΜΒ1 and the 9Μ318 surface-to-air missiles.
The missiles with the greatest range is the Russian 9M317 with 45km and a maximum altitude of 25km and the Belorussian 9M318 with the impressive range of 70km and same altitude as the first one.
The radar has a range of 130km for targets at the size of a MiG-29 fighter. The system can attack 6 targets at the same time. A crew of three are required to operate TELAR.
Of course, Buk-MB3K is being escorted by a reloading vehicle. The whole action takes up to 13-15 minutes.
The command vehicle is based on the MZKT-692251 with a 6x6 special configuration.
