Russian and Arab media sources report that the Turkish army attacked the Russian Khmeimim airport in Syria, highlighting that the Kremlin is furious and ready to respond.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, two days ago, the Russian military air base "Khmeimim", located in western Syria, came under massive attacks by long-range multi-launcher missile systems.
An on-site investigation revealed that they were missiles of the Turkish TRG-300 Kasirga system, which is capable of hitting within a radius of up to 120 kilometers.
The Russians believe that the Turks retaliated against the recent Russian air strike against a Turkish military phalanx transporting oil to Turkey from Syrian territory.
Russian experts believe that the Turkish TRG-300 Kasirga systems recently entered Syria and are operated exclusively by Turkish soldiers, as in no case are they likely to be operated by Islamist fighters, because it requires painstaking and continuous training in order to use state-of-the-art weapons systems.
This fact shows the great involvement of Turkey in the attack on the Russian army, which has provoked great anger in the Kremlin and Russian officials.
It is also known that the Russian army has been closely investigating the missile attack on the Russian air base in Syria, which, incidentally, is being carried out for the first time.
The Russian Ministry of Defense is certain of the Turkish involvement and is now trying to find solid evidence to contact the Turks.
Interestingly enough, shortly before the rocket attack on the Russian military airport in Latakia, Turkish fighter jets appeared in the sky over Idlib province, near Khmeimim air base.
Syrian Observatory for Human Rights sources in the "de-escalation zone" confirmed that the Jihadists were not the ones who fired the missiles at the Russian positions under any circumstances.
A statement from Russia's Deputy Defense Ministry, which is affiliated with the Russian Defense Ministry, said: "At 7:45 pm Moscow time on February 9, Russian forces prevented an attack on the Hmeimim air base, where long-range rocket launchers were used ”.
