The US wants to overthrow the remnants of the Gaddafi regime in Libya, when at the same time Russia is looking for 5 billion dollars that were lost and Turkey is setting up bases and effectively controlling the western part of the north African country.
Today US President Joe Biden sent a letter to the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, stating that "the situation in Libya is still unusual and extraordinary. a threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States. "
"Measures are needed to protect against diversion of property or other abuses by members of the Gaddafi family, their associates and others who are obstructing Libya's national reconciliation," she said.
It is worth noting that the declaration of the first state of emergency took place on February 25, 2011 during the time of Muammar Gaddafi, whose government had been accused of using violence against civilians and embezzling assets of the Libyan state, as well as collaborating with terrorists.
At the same time, Libyan President Muhammad Al-Manafi said in a speech after arriving in Tobruk on Friday that his mission was to fulfill three main tasks.
- The first is the unification of the army, which is very difficult due to the presence of Turkish forces in the country.
- The new President of the Presidential Council added that the second task is to unify the institutions, which is one of the most important points for the Libyan citizen and achieves stability in order to complete the elections, explaining that the elections will not be successful without the consolidation of institutions and the recovery of the economy.
- The third task is national reconciliation, which is considered a necessary point for the Presidency Council, while he stressed that many studies are now being worked out through which they will be able to implement national reconciliation.
It is recalled that General Khalifa Haftar met with Mohammed Al Manfi, Prime Minister of the Transitional Government, yesterday, Thursday, at his office in the city of Benghazi.
According to a statement issued by the General Command of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, during the meeting, all views were presented between the two sides, while Haftar underlined the support of the armed forces in the peace process and the army's effort to maintain democracy and the peaceful transfer of power.
General Haftar also reaffirmed his support for the new president and the government of national unity created by the "political dialogue" for the unification of Libya and the holding of elections expected next December.
Many analysts believe that behind all this there is a big background in which Egypt and Turkey are involved, while the US and Russia are watching from afar.
The three missions of the new president are very difficult to implement because the country has ceased to exist as a single institution since 2011 and this hides big problems.
There are suspicions of a secret agreement between Tripoli and Benghazi, the extensions of which we will see in the near future, while the period until the elections will be fragile and the two sides are moving in quicksand.
