At the Ministry of National Defense and specifically at the Operations Center, they are closely monitoring the movements of the Turkish research ship "Cesme", which Ankara decided to launch in the Aegean on February 18, a few days before the start of the 62nd round of exploratory contacts in Athens.
According to the turkish plans it is supposed to proceed with research for hydrocarbons in an area between Lemnos, Skyros and Alonissos.
There are not a few in the Pentagon who are closely monitoring the new Turkish aggression, but do not stop facing it with humor. "They will be monitoring Cesme closely, in case they need to rush to save people from a possible shipwreck," the "Vimatodotis" typically states, regarding how old and outdated the ship and its technologies are.
The second issue commented on at the Pentagon is Akar's frequent statements about the demilitarization of the islands. Whenever a minister or government official goes to an island, Akar, always wearing the Turkish coat of arms in his clothes, as if questioning his citizenship, calls for the demilitarization of islands. Sometimes it issues a NAVTEX with the aim of demilitarizing the islands. The political leadership in the Pentagon says that that we will not ask for Mr. Akar's permission to go to the islands, which are located within the Greek territory.
The Turkish hydrographic vessel is located in Imvros, ready to sail to the Aegean region, which Ankara has blocked.
It should be noted that Turkey has issued NOTAM A6763 / 20 with which it is trying to bind the area SW of Lemnos (which coincides with the southern part of the Turkish NAVTEX 122/21 for the investigations of the CESME Substation), for all in 2021 for aeronautical exercises.
