The written statement of the Turkish Ministry of Defense states that the Mavi Vatan-2021 exercise was one of the planned exercises of the Naval Forces Command.
In the exercise 82 ships, 5 naval cooperation aircraft, 12 helicopters and unmanned aircraft, Amphibious Marine Corps, Underwater Assault, Underwater Defense teams, general purpose helicopters and attack helicopters, F-16, F- 4 and flying radar, will be deployed.
The name "Blue Homeland" directly refers to the relevant phraseology of Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar for the 462,000 square kilometers described as "territory" and used for the first time by Ankara for an aeronautical exercise.
With the term "blue homeland", Turkey explains the importance it attaches to its naval forces, as a lever to claim profits in foreign policy.
In short, they mean that they will not let anyone do anything at sea without Ankara first being asked.
